Cyber Safe Communities is an extension of the Iowa Cyber Hub and its mission to improve cybersecurity awareness and education across the state.

The Iowa Cyber Hub brings together educators, industry professionals and community partners to connect Iowans with cybersecurity education, resources and career opportunities. It is led by Iowa State University's Center for Cybersecurity Innovation and Outreach.
Bringing the Mission into Iowa Communities
Cyber Safe Communities puts that mission into action at the local level. Through free events, practical resources and partnerships with schools, businesses and community organizations, we help Iowa families, residents and businesses better understand online risks and how to protect themselves.
Our Mission
The vision is simple: make Iowa one of the most cyber-aware and cyber-resilient states by empowering communities to help one another. A community becomes cyber safe not because every resident is an expert, but because neighbors, schools, businesses, libraries, civic organizations, and local leaders work together to make safe online behavior the norm.

The emphasis is on residents, businesses, schools, libraries, and nonprofits — not solely local government.
Achievable
Communities of every size can participate. Success doesn't depend on a large IT department or significant financial resources.
